Grace Episcopal Church 2025 Stewardship Campaign Update
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 Grace’s Stewardship Campaign, “Hope for the Future,” continues this week with inspiring words offered by Anne Kundtz during last Sunday’s worship, which can be viewed here. We are already more than halfway to our goal of raising the $750,000 needed to fund Grace’s ministry operations and beautiful church building and grounds in the coming year. Profound thanks to the 65 households who have renewed their pledges as well as the four new or returning households whose pledges totaling $13,250 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, which leaves $8,750 in the $22,000 fund generously offered by several anonymous households. Grace Church is funded almost entirely by your support, so we hope you will pledge online or by returning a paper pledge card by mail or in the Sunday collection baskets. It is our sincere hope that we will have 100% participation in this campaign, which concludes the week of November 17. Campaign Progress as of October 28, 2024Campaign Goal: $750,000 Progress to date Households Pledging: 69 Journey Remaining Potential Households: 142 Extra pledge packets are available in the Narthex if needed and more details about the campaign are available online. Children, Youth and Family Ministries
When you arrive for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service, please bring your children with you into the sanctuary; and feel free to sit by the altar near the Children’s Rug so your children can engage with others in quiet activities. After the Children’s Moment, they will be guided by their teachers to two learning spaces: one for younger children with more tactile storytelling and activities, and one for older children. Together, we build community through story, ritual, and fun activities before your children join you again for communion in the sanctuary. Youth are always welcome to join us as helpers for the younger children! For more infomation visit:

Artist’s Reception with Isobel ConeySunday, November 10, 2024 Isobel Coney is a teaching artist living on Bainbridge Island. She trained as a printed textile designer in Scotland. Many at Grace are familiar with her skill and talent as a teaching artist. In November and December, we have the gift of her art. Isobel’s latest ceramic work features an Italian decorative technique called Sgraffito. Using the rolled-out clay like a canvas, she paints layers of colored glazes on, then carves out whimsical patterns, making connections between the natural world and our daily lives. Chat with Isobel and learn more at an artist’s reception on Sunday, November 10 after the 9:30 service. |

A weekend with Steve Garnaas-Holmes
There’s still time to sign up for the retreat and poetry reading with Steve Garnaas-Holmes! All are welcome to attend. Invite friends and neighbors! “What can I expect at the retreat?” Here’s what Pastor Steve writes: “What I have in mind is not so much a ‘writing retreat’ as much as a contemplative exploration of a way of seeing God, and praying, and seeing ourselves—with plenty of opportunities to explore that through writing if that’s the way folks want to work with it. But for some it might be a drawing retreat, a prayer retreat, or even a movement retreat.” Sign up today by sending Kim an email: kim@gracehere.org. Retreat: Saturday, November 16, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Poetry Reading: Saturday, November 16, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Homily: Sunday, November 17, at 8:00 & 9:30 a.m. services Events are free Suggested donation for retreat lunch: $20 For more infomation visit: http://gracehere.org/events/a-weekend-with-steve-garnaas-holmes/2024-11-16
