When you arrive, please bring your children with you into the sanctuary; and feel free to sit by the altar near the Children’s Rug so your children can engage with others in quiet activities. After the Children’s Moment, they will be guided by their teachers to two learning spaces: one for younger children with more tactile storytelling and activities, and one for older children. Together, we build community through story, ritual, and fun activities before your children join you again for communion in the sanctuary. Youth are always welcome to join us as helpers for the younger children!
If you’re looking for a place that welcomes you just as you are, please consider joining our awesome group of youth at Grace.
Youth are invited to join their peers and two adult leaders in the youth room right after the 9:30 service on Sunday. Grab some food and coffee at coffee hour and meet us for a time of conversation and friendship. We’re not afraid to ask questions without answers, and we believe in a God who loves us unconditionally and calls us each by name. We also believe that service is a great way to belong to a community, and we offer ways to get involved here at Grace and beyond.
Our youth have gone on summer pilgrimages, served La Iglesia Episcopal de la Resurección in Mount Vernon, joined the other generations here at Grace for Service Sundays, supported graduating seniors with scholarships, and participated in a multitude of faith-formation opportunities.
To keep updated about special and seasonal programming, and additional opportunities for youth, like service projects, trips, and hang-outs, please subscribe to our e-news or contact our Director of Faith Formation at kim@gracehere.org.
Church should feel like home! We seek to create a safe, nurturing place for your children and do everything we can to help them to feel welcomed, and valued. Staff and regular volunteers who serve our children have all completed Safeguarding training through the Diocese of Olympia.
There are a myriad of opportunities to get to know our children and youth better, and we consider each of them a privilege and a joy. Our core team of volunteers meets regularly to support each other as we work together to make Grace a welcoming home and place of nourishment and growth for our children and youth. Whether you have just a little bit or a lot of time to give, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Kim at kim@gracehere.org for more information, or talk to one of our teachers or helpers on a Sunday.
Regular teachers and volunteers must undergo background checks and Safeguarding training from the Diocese of Olympia.
