Join us this Lent at Grace
Dear People of Grace, We live in a time of seismic shifts: the rise of social media, astounding technological advances, sociopolitical disruptions, global migration, and rapid societal change. For many, this is disorienting and anxiety provoking. As people of faith, how do we take it all in? As systems we once knew and trusted transform for better and worse, what would Jesus have to say? Where is God in the midst of it? How then shall we live? Join us this Lent at Grace as we consider this question and what it means to be both citizens of our country and the Kingdom of God. We begin that journey on Ash Wednesday, where we are reminded of own mortality and dependence upon the Giver of Life. On Sundays, we will have speakers from Fishline, Scarlet Road, and Chaplains on the Harbor who will share their experience of what it means to be citizens of the Kingdom of God. On Tuesday evenings, we will gather in community to share food and conversation and explore our own response to the challenge of living responsively out of love and wisdom rather than reactively out of fear and anxiety. Please do join us. |

Children, Youth and Family Ministries
When you arrive for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service, please bring your children with you into the sanctuary; and feel free to sit by the altar near the Children’s Rug so your children can engage with others in quiet activities. After the Children’s Moment, they will be guided by their teachers to two learning spaces: one for younger children with more tactile storytelling and activities, and one for older children. Together, we build community through story, ritual, and fun activities before your children join you again for communion in the sanctuary. Youth are always welcome to join us as helpers for the younger children! For more infomation visit:

“FOR THE BIRDS” CONCERTFriday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Church Live music, images, and poetry invite reflection on our changing climate. For the Birds features a jazz quintet performing the original music of Seattle pianist and composer Nelda Swiggett. But this is not just a concert. The performance engages the power of artistic expression — live music, spoken words, images and poetry — to connect audiences deeply and emotionally to the scientific realities of climate change. Ultimately this is a story of hope, and audiences leave the performance feeling empowered to take meaningful action. Why birds? Birds are a part of our daily life experience, and an inspiring connection to the natural world. But climate change is having a significant and alarming impact on many bird species, and this should be a wake-up call for all of us. Hosted by the Earth and Spirit Ministry of Grace Suggested Donation $10 - $20 / Students $5 Find more information and purchase tickets at ForTheBirdsGrace.eventbrite.com. For more infomation visit:

Outreach / Faith in ActionUPDATE from PeaceTrees Vietnam On February 19th, the U.S. Department of State granted PeaceTrees Vietnam temporary permission to resume our demining and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance operations for 12 weeks in Quảng Trị Province and 8 weeks in Quảng Bình Province. This is encouraging news, but challenges remain as there is no guarantee that authorization or funding will continue beyond these timeframes. Additionally, we’re still seeking clarity on the State Department’s review process and what the future holds for humanitarian mine action globally. Over the past month, PeaceTrees’ supporters have rallied to sustain our mission—donating to our fund for deminers, contacting representatives, sharing resources, and coming together to discuss what lies ahead. We’re grateful to each of you for a shared community that is passionate, caring, and responsive. In response to the initial funding freeze and stop-work order, this same community has raised an incredible $120,000 to support our deminers. These generous gifts have provided a strong foundation of support, which will enable us to remain flexible, nimble, and adaptable as we navigate this funding freeze, stop-work order, and the changing funding landscape of mine action. As we work closely with the State Department and our teams to return deminers to the field, your generosity and friendship ensures that we can continue creating safer communities in Vietnam. How You Can Continue to Help
Thank you for showing up for PeaceTrees through these uncertain times and for being a part of our vital work. |

Pádraig Ó Tuama: The Better Angels of Our NatureAn evening with the acclaimed poet and theologian Thursday, April 3, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Cathedral and livestreamed. Registration required. We live in fraught times when violence seems to be the common denominator in a calculus based in mistrust and misanthropic othering. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind… Drawing on inspiration from his work with language and religion, conflict and peacemaking, this truth-teller of our time will draw us into an orbit of soulful wisdom and poetic grace. Fee: $15 (for in-person and livestream participation). Visit Pádraig Ó Tuama’s website, and click below for more information about the event. If you are interested in travelling together to this event and catching dinner together beforehand as a group, please register and contact Kim Cockroft.
