Sunday Guest Speakers During Lent
For the next three Sundays, in place of the homily at both services, speakers from three nonprofits will speak to us about their vital work and what sustains them in their mission. We hope that their words will expand our imaginations as we continue our Lenten discussion, “How then shall we live?” Please invite friends and neighbors. Click on the links below to learn more about these organizations. This Sunday, March 16, we will hear from Charlie Thompson, Executive Director of Fishline. On March 23, we will welcome Pam Schneider, Director of Development at Scarlet Road, an organization dedicated to preventing trafficking and restoring the lives of those who have experienced sexual exploitation in Kitsap County. Rev. Barbara Weza, Executive Director of Chaplains on the Harbor, will share her experiences at our March 30 services.

“FOR THE BIRDS” CONCERTFriday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Church Live music, images, and poetry invite reflection on our changing climate. For the Birds features a jazz quintet performing the original music of Seattle pianist and composer Nelda Swiggett. The performance engages the power of artistic expression — live music, spoken words, images and poetry — to connect audiences deeply and emotionally to the scientific realities of climate change. Ultimately this is a story of hope, and audiences leave the performance feeling empowered to take meaningful action. Hosted by the Earth & Spirit Ministry of Grace Suggested Donation $10 - $20 / Students $5 Find more information and purchase tickets at ForTheBirdsGrace.eventbrite.com. For more infomation visit:

Growing Grace
The Growing Grace committee was formed in 2024 in response to a felt need by Grace’s leadership to expand our membership while also sustaining our community’s spiritual growth. Our newest iteration of this committee has been strategically and prayerfully grappling with the question, “How may we become more welcoming?” To that end, we’re making strides toward welcoming our newcomers. We have plans to improve our physical space, such as updating our signage. We’ve also been asking questions about what people are looking for in a spiritual community. You can help us by inviting a friend or neighbor to church, or to one of our faith formation events, such as Tuesday Lenten evenings. Consider introducing yourself to someone at Grace you haven’t yet met and inviting them to coffee hour. Or get to know our children better by volunteering to help in Sunday School. We are grateful for the way our community looks out for the visitors among us. Together we will continue to build the Kingdom of God, one loving invitation at a time. And we're seeing new faces at Grace. At our most recent Newcomers Dinner, we had twelve adults and five children. Thanks to Membership Lead Liz Shaw-Powell, and the team of Welcomers, for hosting this lovely event! Warmly, |

Help Support our KIAC Families
Our friends and neighbors served by KIAC (Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center) are scared to go to the market for food, to send their children to school or seek medical treatment due to I.C.E. (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) in our county. During the month of March, Grace’s Outreach/Faith in Action ministry is collecting much-needed donations: white rice • dry black beans • Maseca® (corn masa flour) • paper towels • toilet paper • bar soap Please leave them in the narthex, making sure they are kept separate from the donations for our Afghan family. Thank You/Gracias! |

Click here to learn about the duties of the Night Owls and to sign up. Questions? Contact Place for Grace leader Dan Rohan at (206) 660-1228 or drohan@gmail.com. Dawn Chorus
Sunday, April 6, 7 – 8 a.m. Earth & Spirit will host our (almost) annual “Dawn Chorus” birdwatching at Grace, with veteran birder Demi Allen. We will meet in the Grace parking lot, then quietly walk the Grace trails and listen for our feathered friends. All ages are welcome. The most exuberant singing is often heard in spring when birds identify territories and mates. Come help us add some new species to the Grace bird list. Demi will bring a spotting scope. Bring binoculars and a bird guide if you have them. |

Pádraig Ó Tuama: The Better Angels of Our NatureAn evening with the acclaimed poet and theologian Thursday, April 3, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Cathedral and livestreamed. Registration required. We live in fraught times when violence seems to be the common denominator in a calculus based in mistrust and misanthropic othering. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind… Drawing on inspiration from his work with language and religion, conflict and peacemaking, this truth-teller of our time will draw us into an orbit of soulful wisdom and poetic grace. Fee: $15 (for in-person and livestream participation). Visit Pádraig Ó Tuama’s website, and click below for more information about the event. If you are interested in travelling together to this event and catching dinner together beforehand as a group, please register and contact Kim Cockroft.
